Hudson Park provides learners with opportunities to extend themselves and to develop their capacity across a wide range of activities. In this way, we provide a sound framework within which each individual may follow his, or her, inclinations and find fulfillment.
Hudson Park High School provides comfortable boarding facilities for students who require it. It has two hostels, namely Highbury Terrace for girls and Hampton House for boys.
We endeavor to provide a happy and caring environment for our boarders, while at the same time ensuring that sound norms and standards of behavior are upheld in the hostels. Open lines of communication are maintained with parents, and every effort made to ensure the progress and welfare of the children.
Academic
Our aim is for learners to work productively and to develop their thinking skills and their creativity.
Computer literacy is a vital aspect of all that we do, and we provide the best in educational systems and hardware.
Hudson Park has several Academies for accelerated learning which cater for learners with particular academic aptitude.
Remedial and other support is offered, in areas such as the development of foundational and sensory-motor skills, and trauma management.
Physical
Winning is, of course, the goal of games, but the enjoyment of the game and the manner in which it is played remain paramount.
All learners can participate in sports, regardless of their level of attainment. For the most able, professional coaching is available, and our learners are regularly selected for provincial, or national, teams. The professional coaches also assist members of our general staff who are involved in the coaching of sports, helping them to keep abreast of rules and techniques.
Cultural
Hudson Park offers a host of opportunities for budding musicians, actors, artists, and dancers to develop their talents.
Every learner is encouraged to participate, and both individual and group tuition is offered. This may take place during normal school hours, or as part of our extra-mural programme.
Performance skills are strengthened through participation in concerts and stage presentations which are a regular feature at Hudson Park.
Pastoral
Our pastoral programme is dedicated to awakening in learners the joy of service to others.
The nature of many of the activities brings leadership and initiative to the fore in the learners, and the programme provides a platform for them to contribute in a meaningful way to society.
As they find ways to share what they have with those who are less fortunate, their self-worth grows and they experience in real-life situations what it means to make the world a better place.
